YDC-OOPL Credit Scheme

On March 30, 2022, the Youth Development Centre, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library announced the 5 winners of the first cycle of the YDC-OOPL Credit Scheme. This announcement was made during the Future of Work Conference held at the OOPL Cinemas Auditorium. Following the announcement was the presentation of cheque to beneficiaries by His Excellency, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR.

The YDC-OOPL Micro Credit Scheme Project is an initiative of Chief Promoter of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, under the aegis of its Youth Development Centre to empower young business owners with a soft loan facility to boost their business.

Application and Eligibility for the maiden edition of the scheme were centered around young people who had once participated in the periodic Business Enterprise Training at the Youth Development Centre. At the primary stage of application, a total of 52 applications were received, while only 26 eligible candidates were invited to participate in the post selection training on how to write a feasible business plan. Haven received and screened all business plan, the Centre selected 5 most outstanding business plan for further interview and verification.

A total of ₦4,150,000 (Four Million, One hundred and Fifty thousand Naira) has been disbursed to the 5 beneficiaries, this figure is said to be increased in subsequently as the programme improves.
