Career Path

Unemployment is a perennial challenge in Africa. As part of its enterprise development mandate, the YDC-OOPL partnered with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH to run the “CAREER PATH” project with a primary focus of empowering young people with information and skills on how to harness their potentials to become more employable and/or business owners. Returning and intending young migrants were also part of the target beneficiaries.

Some of the objectives were to help participants identify their skills and forte through soft skill training; equip them with skills that make them more employable; facilitate the acquisition of work experience by providing internship opportunities; exposure to study opportunities in Germany and provide a networking platform for participants.
